William Roberts
Burlington, VT
William (Willy) Roberts, 84, formerly of Williston, VT, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, March 12, 2021 following a brief illness and dementia.
Willy learned carpentry from his father and worked for several years for Pizzagalli Construction. Upon retirement from construction work, he became a school bus driver for the Williston School District; a job he truly loved. He was a member of the Vermont Army National Guard and the Williston Fire Department in his youth.
Willy loved spending time with his family, camping and playing his guitar; he was a huge Johnny Cash fan. He played for many years at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in their ministry group.
He was married to the love of his life, Patti (Bates), and went on to help raise 7 children; along with several neighborhood children who all frequented his house.
Willy is survived by six of his children, Mona (Boutin), Kenny, Chipper, Danny, Hank and Jani (Wilson); seventeen grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sisters-inlaw, Nancy St. Amour, Janice Roberts, Joan Bates and Sandy Bates; brother-in-law, Reverend James Bates.
He was predeceased by his wife (Patti), his son (Billy), sisters (Lucille Tromblay and Jean Goodrich), brothers (Henry, Jerry, Emile, Leo, Paul, Eddie, Moe and Andre), parents (Henry and Ida Roberts), parents-in-law (Ed and Jane Bates), daughter-in-law (Pattie Lynn) and brothers-in-law (Eddie and George Bates). Willy was the lone survivor of his immediate family.
