Harriet “Nancy” Ladensack
Richmond, VT 

Harriet “Nancy,” Ladensack, 85, died August 16, 2021 on the same date her husband, John, died 26 years before. 


She married John N. Ladensack III on March 22, 1958 in Lexington, Massachusetts. They lived in Richmond since 1973.


After moving to Vermont, she worked at Camel’s Hump Middle School as an administrative assistant for more than 25 years. In her retirement, she stayed busy by volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Richmond Recreation Committee, and as a guide at the Old Round Church. On her daily trips off the hill, she would often be seen stopping to talk with many along the way. Her marshmallow fudge was loved by everyone. 


She enjoyed golfing, antiquing, having lunch with her group of friends, and, most importantly, spending time with her family.


She is survived by two sons, Peter Ladensack and his fiancée Tracy, his children Zach and his fiancée Cassie, Zaide and her husband Nate and their dog Han, and Zoe and her husband John and their children Payton and Jackson, and Tracy’s children Zachary, Devon, and Danielle, and grand dogs Taz and Tango. 


Eric Ladensack and his two sons Noah and Sawyer and grand dog Kenai.


Two daughters, Karen and her husband Michael St. Marie, their daughter Samantha and fiancée Andrew and grand dog Luna;


Susan and her husband Thomas Carpenter, their daughters Lindsey and her husband Chris and their children Maddi, Raegan, and Mckenzie and grand dog Oakley, and Chelsea and her fiancée Cody and grand dog Crash.


She was predeceased by her husband John N. III in 1995 and a son John “Jay” Ladensack in 1982. 


Per her wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A private graveside will be held at the convenience of the family. 


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Chittenden County Humane Society, 142 Kindness Court, South Burlington, 05403.
