Everett George Lewis Sr
Williston - Everett G. Lewis passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, July 19, 2019. Everett was born March 2, 1933 to Napoleon Lewis and Dora Laforce. He grew up in Huntington with his parents and four siblings, attending Huntington and Richmond schools. After that, he enlisted in the army and spent three years serving his country, taking him to Germany and many other places.
In 1952 he married Myrtice Hulett and together they raised three boys, Everett Jr, Armon (Denny), and Theodore (Teddy). Retiring at 57 years old from IBM, he continued to pursue many different interests over the years. He enjoyed hobby farming with beef cows for several years. One of his passions was tinkering and repairing most anything that needed fixing or consulting anyone who needed advice. He was a diehard Red Sox fan and loved all types of hunting and fishing at his camps in Vermont and New York. He coached Little League and softball and was a long standing member of the Williston Volunteer Fire Department.
He was predeceased by his parents, siblings Zira and Grant, his wife Myrtice, and his son Theodore. He leaves behind his brothers Ed and John, long time companion Patricia Rocque, son Everett Jr and wife Audrey of Huntington, son Denny and wife Kathy of Williston, and Patricia’s daughter Carol, close friend Kelly, and family. He also took great pride in his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors from the Intensive Care Unit at UVMMC, as well as his physician, Dr. Hannah Rabin.
There will be no visiting hours; the family will hold a private graveside service on Tuesday.
